The Denver Public Library’s Summer of Adventure program encourages youth from birth to 12th grade to grow, learn and have fun.

During the summer months, while not in school, students who lack access to learning opportunities lose anywhere between 1-3 months of reading and math skills. This phenomenon is called summer learning loss or summer slide.

The Summer of Adventure program provides youth with opportunities for informal learning and activities to help youth retain academic and social skills throughout the summer months. And best of all, it’s FREE!

Timeline

Summer of Adventure runs from June 1 - August 8. Here are the important dates:

  • June 1: First day to register
  • July 31: First day to pick up Completion Prize
  • July 31: Last day to register
  • August 31: Last day for prizes

How to Register

Beginning June 1, register online or call 720-865-1111 to register over the phone for the Summer of Adventure program. Download an adventure guide to record your activities and work your way to a finishing prize. Youth will receive a registration prize and completion prize. Families will be eligible for weekly drawings for passes to cultural institutions, entertainment centers, and local businesses.
